Welcome to the University of California's first Master's of Science in Robotics degree program! Given the interdisciplinary nature of and varied applications for robotics, the program is offered through a joint collaboration among three departments - Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering. Students with backgrounds in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a closely related field are eligible to apply.
*Comprehensive Exam Option:
Students will need to take a comprehensive exam based on the courses in the program.
**Project Option:
Students must complete a research project under the guidance of a faculty member. The project will be approved by a committee of at least two faculty members and requires a presentation and written report.

Four Focus Areas
Students choose from one of four focus areas to create a course plan that best fits their career goals:
